Card Description: For my Loteria card, I wanted to share my thoughts on how Quinceañera is a traditional culture that is celebrated in the Hispanic community. The celebration of a girl 15th birthday making her passage from childhood to womanhood. the celebration usually begins with a mass attended and the girl's family and godmother. it inspired me to do this one because i never had a quince años and I wanted to know more about it. I after I did my research, I got to learn more about it and how the girls they received their last doll from her godmother. Parents have to set her a ceremony at church and give the thank to God that she is a woman now.
Student Biography: My name is Maria Antonio and I am a senior at Santa Maria High School. I live in Santa Maria, California with my parents and my youngest brother. What inspired me to do draw my Loteria card was I wanted to know more about the culture that is well celebrated in the Hispanic community also because I never got the chance to celebrate my quince años. The artist process was fun I enjoyed it so much having to work and out my mindset on that I wanted to do. Life after high school will be amazing my plans is to continue with school and study to become an ultrasound tech.
